Pakenso to launch corrugated board production in Lithuania

PAKENSO TO LAUNCH CORRUGATED BOARD PRODUCTION IN LITHUANIA Pakenso Oy, a subsidiary of Stora Enso Oyj, is strengthening its position as the Baltic region's biggest corrugated board manufacturer by starting a corrugated board converting operation in Kaunas, Lithuania. The investment is worth around 4 million euros and production is due to start in summer this 2 year. The new production plant will have a capacity of 20 million m and will employ some 35 persons. The buildings purchased by Pakenso will allow full- scale corrugated board production to be started in the second phase of the investment programme. Pakenso is seeking to establish a leading position as a manufacturer of corrugated board products in the geographical area comprising Scandinavia, the Baltic countries, Poland and Russia. Pakenso Oy is part of Stora Enso's Packaging Boards division and is responsible for the group's corrugated boards business. It currently has production plants in Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Estonia and Russia. Pakenso will also begin corrugated board converting in Poland this spring.
