STORA establishes its own wholesale operations in Latvia

As part of STORA's efforts to establish its own wholesale operations in Eastern Europe, Stora Merchant has started a new fine papers wholesale company, Stora Papirs SIA, in Riga, Latvia. Currently, work is in progress to establish the business and operations are scheduled to commence formally in January 1997. Gundega Sproge has been appointed general manager and she has already assumed her new post. The operation in Riga will have the same focus as Stora Merchant's fine papers wholesale company in Estonia, Stora Paberi AS, namely to conduct inventory, sales and distribution operations in the local market through its own organization.
