Strakka Racing starts sixth at Silverstone
Combined times put DOME S103 in sixth for S103’s race debut
Strakka Racing will line up sixth in the P2 class for tomorrow’s Silverstone 6 Hours, marking its return to sportscar racing after nearly two years away. Nick Leventis and Danny Watts shared qualifying duties on Saturday, yielding an average time of 1.52.284 in dry conditions at the DOME S103’s race debut.
“We made real progress with the car from yesterday,” says driver Danny Watts. “We improved the balance and in the wet conditions of this morning’s free practice we headed the times right up until the tracked dried out in the final minutes. It’s a good start to our WEC racing return.”
For team principal Dan Walmsley, qualifying was another towards a strong race debut for the DOME S103. “We qualified using just two sets of Michelin tyres out of the four allocated sets and they have come through in good order,” adds team principal Dan Walmsley. “If we keep doing what we do, we should be in a good position by the end of the race as we ease ourselves back in to racing.”
The Silverstone 6 Hours race will start tomorrow at 12pm local time.
