SMPP updates base code for cutting-edge access to internet trends and features

CLINTON, WASHINGTON August 24, 2010 – Strategic Management & Opportunity Corporation (OTC: SMPP) has finalized steps to allow for a base code update on its software for the company’s proprietary Strategic VSP product platform. The update, a crucial stage toward final launch, includes an overhaul of the backend programming with PHP optimization.

CEO Julienne Audette simplifies the tech-heavy process for shareholders, “PHP is a programming language that allows for dynamic web pages; the web itself is ever-evolving, with new business and personal ‘must-haves’ that mesh only with the most current backend tweaks. Updating the PHP allows us to code the site more cleanly for a faster, smoother running website with enhanced security, utilizing the latest in developer technology for the site and its components. It’s also a step that helps ensure the most effective, bug-free site once live.  Many sites skip this step toward a quick launch and often pay the price later with issues that easily compound.”

The programming update prepares the company for its final phases of development prior to Beta and will allow the site to run the latest xml-based widgets and user-friendly interfaces.  This allows Strategic to effectively take its IP to the next level to ensure market position upon launch.  One significant factor is that the result of the update will provide advertisers with the latest in social networking tools, which are increasingly becoming a mainstay in market permeation for small businesses.

The Small Business Success Index™ (SBSI), sponsored by Network Solutions and the Center for Excellence in Service at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business, reports social media adoption by small businesses has doubled from 12% to 24% in the last year. The SBSI found that nearly one out of five small business owners are actively using social media in their business. Small businesses are increasingly investing in social media applications including blogs, Facebook and LinkedIn profiles.

“Aside from Social Networking, the update sets the stage for clean implementation of other value added services such as portable embedding codes allowing for dynamic linking and Target Market Optimization for Video,” states Audette. “In taking advantage of these industry trends via programming, Strategic VSP opens itself up for a variety of consistent, progressive revenue streams with an extensive offering to customers, including access to ppv/ppc advertizing campaigns such as Google AdSense.”

“Perhaps the most exciting part of it all is that this crucial step is one of the most important in preparing us for launch,” adds Audette. “Strategic VSP is a compelling, visually rich tool with multiple, user-friendly attributes that requires an unparalleled foundation. I’m thrilled to see us at this point which has set us well above pace toward implementation.”
