Praise for new Hugh Rice store following Harrogate launch

Visitors to the latest Hugh Rice store in Harrogate say the opening represents an exciting opportunity for the region.

The family-owned jewellers officially unveiled its latest store on James Street on Saturday 29 November with assembled guests taking the opportunity to look at the latest ranges as well as get advice on jewellery design. Experts from Hugh Rice also provided a free jewellery cleaning service.

Olympic gold medallist Luke Campbell MBE joined the Mayor and Mayoress of Harrogate to cut the ribbon, he says: “Harrogate is incredibly lucky to have a Hugh Rice store. They are renowned for quality and always offer a brilliant service.”

Paul Rice, Managing Director at Hugh Rice says: "This store is another exciting chapter in our history. The launch was a great success, we're already getting brilliant feedback from our customers and we're looking forward to a long and happy future in the town."

The Hugh Rice company was founded in 1971 and operates stores in Hull and Beverley as well as seven others dedicated to the popular Pandora brand. The Harrogate store is the latest addition to the group and is home to a host of exclusive jewellery and top brands including Breitling and Omega.

Andrew Jones MP says: “Having a long-standing family business such as Hugh Rice invest in Harrogate shows the confidence they, and other businesses, have in our local economy. The store is a fantastic addition to the area and has obviously come at some considerable investment. I wish them all the very best for the future.”

Councillor Jim Clark, the Mayor of Harrogate, added: “It was a great pleasure to officially open the new Hugh Rice store in Harrogate.  It is tremendous to have a Yorkshire based independent store in the centre of Harrogate and it enhances Harrogate’s position as a great shopping venue”.

Hugh Rice was founded in 1971 and trades from ten stores across the Yorkshire region, including three multi-brand stores in Hull, Beverley and Harrogate and seven Pandora concept stores in Hull, Leeds, Bradford Meadowhall and Harrogate. It employs a team of over 200 people, who go above and beyond to deliver an excellent customer experience.

The company boasts some of the finest international brands, including Omega, Breitling, Tag Heuer and Chopard as well as a selection of contemporary lifestyle brands including Pandora, Michael Kors, Thomas Sabo and Swarovski along with its own brand of fine diamond jewellery. In 2014, Hugh Rice announced a sponsorship deal with professional boxer and Olympic gold medallist, Luke Campbell.
