NOVESTRA ACHIEVES INVESTMENT COMPANY STATUS In a decision rendered May 8, 2000 by Skatterättsnämnden, Novestra has received a positive advance ruling ("förhandsbesked") stating that the company complies with the requirements of an investment company ("investmentföretag") according to the Act on State Income Tax ("Lagen om statlig inkomstskatt") and that the company shall be taxed as an investment company already as of the current fiscal year (July 1, 1999 - June 30, 2000). "In view of the development of Novestra's result (MSEK 107 for the nine months period 1 July, 1999 - 31 March, 2000) it is advantageous that we have managed to achieve investment company status already as of the current fiscal year. Novestra has already from the start chosen to conduct the operations in a limited company ("aktiebolag"), as it offers a simple, transparent and (after listing) liquid form of investment. The advance ruling represents an important cornerstone in the establishment of Novestra's structure and it is an important step in view of our intended listing on the OM Stockholm Exchange O-list" ", says the chairman of Novestra, Lennart Tengroth. Novestra is one of the leading venture capital investment firms in the Nordic countries primarily with a focus on companies providing enabling services to the network economy.
