Novestra to establish a new company incubator Novestra founds a new wholly-owned venture capital firm, which will function as an incubator. The company, Evestra AB, will be an independent firm with its own investment strategy and investment portfolio separate from Novestra's. Evestra will create exceptional conditions for growth in the companies included in its portfolio through a process of quality insurance, acquired from Novestra's network of associates. The management team of the new company will initially be comprised of five individuals who possess a large experience within the fields of business development, entrepreneurship and financing. Included in the team will be the current management of Netcap, the analyst firm that is now to be integrated with Evestra. Among other tasks, Netcap will oversee the development of Evestra's Internet portal, evestra.com, as well as develop the analytical tools to be used in the business. Evestra will use a business model where the value of the resources placed at the disposal of portfolio companies will be converted to an ownership share of between 25-50 percent. The goal is to build a portfolio consisting of at least 10-12 holdings within a period of 12 months. Some of the holdings are expected to represent considerable value already within that period. Novestra is one of the leading venture capital investment firms in the Nordic countries primarily with a focus on companies providing enabling services to the network economy. Novestra's portfolio of companies includes Bredbandsbolaget, Fanglobe.com, IQUITY Systems, Jupiter Communications, Mobilestop.com, NetSurvey, PowerNet and Qbranch. Novestra plans an official listing during Q2 2000. The shares are currently traded unofficially through Hagströmer & Qviberg Fondkommission AB.
