SONERA CHOOSES COMINTELL FOR KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT PORTAL NOVESTRA INCREASES OWNERSHIP IN COMINTELL Comintell Holding AB has received an important order from Sonera to deliver the knowledge management software including integration services for Sonera's business intelligence intranet portal (see enclosed press release). The order confirms the growing demand for knowledge management solutions and for Comintell's products and services in this field where Comintell already has major corporate clients including Ericsson, Birka Energi, Telia, Tetra Pak and IKEA. To secure the financing of Comintell's further growth until it reaches positive cash flow, which is expected during 2001, AB Novestra has agreed to inject an additional MSEK4 in a new share issue which will increase Novestra's ownership to 37.7 %. "Our engagement in Comintell is well in line with our investment focus on enabling services and technologies where most of our investments are made. We anticipated already at the end of last year the forthcoming downturn in the market and the general re-evaluation of many Internet related projects and companies. We have, therefore, over the last twelve months avoided investments in new capital intense projects. We also have a strong financial position with available funds for further investments of approximately MSEK 300 ," says Novestra's President, Thomas Åkerman. "Today, Novestra has a portfolio that develops well and there is only a limited exposure for Novestra as regards further capital requirements amongst portfolio companies," Thomas Åkerman continues. "Continuum, for example, in which we are founding investors, have approximately MSEK 600 available for investments. Several of the other portfolio companies have actual or short-term expected positive cash flow and no expected additional capital requirements (Dallas, DCM, Netsurvey, PowerNet, Qbranch and Recollections). Out of Novestra's other portfolio companies, it is mainly Bredbandsbolaget, Iquity Systems and Mobilestop that have negative cash flow."
