JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – September 15, 2010 -- With the evolution of smartphones as a person’s on-the-go resource and with moving ranking as one of the most stressful events an individual will ever experience, The Suddath Companies is proud to release the first multi-platform moving app for the iPhone and BlackBerry. This new app will ease the stress of moving by guiding you through every phase of your move. The app is free and available for download in the iPhone App Store and will be available in BlackBerry App World early next week.

As a leading domestic, international and government household goods moving company, Suddath created Moving Guru, the first app created for all move types such as domestic, international, military and government. Suddath is the only company to launch a free moving app for the two most popular smartphone platforms, the iPhone and BlackBerry. The iPhone and BlackBerry combined hold approximately 63 percent of U.S. market share, according to The Nielson Company, Q1 2010 report.

Suddath’s Moving Guru features the following:

  • Move task list beginning eight weeks prior to move date
  • The ability to request a moving estimate
  • Tips for selecting a mover
  • ‘We’ve moved’ notification to pre-selected phone contacts
  • Packing tips and helpful videos
  • Glossary of moving terminology

“Suddath’s investment in technology to improve the customer experience and provide the latest advancements for moving will continue to cement our place as an industry leader,” said Kelly Evans, Suddath’s director of internet marketing, social media and app project manager.  “This innovative app is the next step in our effort to redefine the experience of moving.”

Suddath’s app is beneficial to anyone planning to move or in the process of a move. “The few moving apps that are available aren’t free and don’t cover every phase of a move, or are only available to a company’s current customer base,” Evans said. “Suddath’s Moving Guru app offers a resource to our existing customers and potential customers who are entering the daunting task of moving.”

Melinda Randolph, senior director of marketing for The Suddath Companies, said, “Suddath is thrilled about Moving Guru.  Despite a stilted economy, the financial strength and progressive focus of our enterprise has enabled us to offer this at a perfect time for anyone needing to move. The app’s features and enjoyable level of connectivity combine to ease a typically burdensome process.  The Moving Guru app is a testament to our commitment to provide services and technologies that improve the worldwide moving experience each and every day.”
