Long Commons is a recently constructed luxury five-bedroom house, with disabled access throughout, and sea views in St Mawes, Cornwall, and is available to rent for the first time through www.cornwallscottages.co.uk.

Set out in reverse style, the property offers spacious accommodation for up to 9 guests, including those with disabilities.

Leslie and Paula Brown built Long Commons three years ago for Paula’s father, who was confined to a wheelchair.

Paula said: “My father was very happy living in Long Commons for two years. It was exceptionally easy for him to move about the house whilst still being able to enjoy the spectacular views from all the rooms and the garden.

“The accommodation at Long Commons is extremely flexible and inclusive. It can cater for guests with young children - cots, high chairs and stair gates are provided - as well as the elderly and those with disabilities, and because the entire house is accessible to all, no one has to miss out.”

An internal lift allows easy wheelchair access to the first floor open plan living area with its fully fitted modern kitchen, dining area and living room with leather sofas and bi-fold doors that lead onto a balcony with magnificent sea views over St Mawes Bay, the village and distant coast and countryside beyond.

The first floor also comprises a large bathroom specifically designed for those with disabilities and a master double bedroom with 5’ bed, access to the balcony and en-suite bathroom.

Four further bedrooms, all with their own en-suite bathrooms and two with sea views, are on the ground floor.

Outside, a large landscaped garden and raised patio area, with garden furniture and sea views, are located at the rear of the property and can be accessed by a disabled friendly pathway.

Off road parking is available for up to six vehicles and, whilst the property is not normally dog friendly, guide dogs are welcome.

Long Commons is available to rent through www.cornwallscottages.co.uk (01872 264441) and a week’s stay from 24th March 2013 is £1499.
