Tickets for the 2011 Daphne du Maurier Festival go on sale to the general public from Monday 21 March and, with a spectacular line up of stars, early booking is advised.

Oscar-winning lyricist Sir Tim Rice, scientist Professor Robert Winston, best-selling novelist Robert Goddard, former chief political correspondent and Strictly Come Dancing star John Sergeant, world famous percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie and Inbetweeners comedian Greg Davies are just a few of the many celebrities who will be taking to the festival stage in Fowey from 12-21 May. No less compelling are people like Gareth Neame, Executive Producer of ITV’s Downton Abbey, who will be talking about making the hit series, renowned political strategist Alistair Campbell, Irish folk singer Cara Dillon and comedienne and Grumpy Old Woman Jenny Eclair. “We’ve always worked very hard to get an outstanding line-up and this year is no exception,” said Festival Director Jonathan Aberdeen. “With a packed programme of events in the marquee and an equally exciting schedule of community events in and around the area, there really is something for everyone. A lot of acts sell out fast, though, so it’s a good idea to book as soon as possible. This year, as an added incentive, we’ve introduce an Early Bird booking discount. Many events are cheaper, if bought before the end of April.” The full festival programme can be viewed on, or downloaded from, the Festival’s website: www.dumaurierfestival.co.uk . Tickets are also available from the Festival’s Box Office, sited at St Austell’s Tourist Information Centre – Tel 01726 879 500 and other outlets also listed on the website.
