Sustainable Energy Solutions Sweden Holding AB ("SENS" or the "Company") today announces that it is signing a Letter Of Intent with Clearwell Europe AB ("Clearwell") regarding a mine water treatment system, for the ongoing project in the Värmlandsberg mine.

With SENS' solution with pumped hydro storage in underground mines, large-scale long duration energy storage is enabled in a cost-effective and sustainable way. One of SENS' ongoing projects is the Värmlandsberg mine outside Filipstad, Värmland, Sweden. The company is currently developing an energy cluster in the area which is including energy generation from solar power with next-generation energy storage technologies, underground pumped storage (UPHS) and battery systems (BESS).

Today, SENS announces that the Company signs an additional Letter Of Intent, to drive the project further, now with Clearwell, a Swedish based technology company.

Clearwell operates in the industrial wastewater sector, specialized in cleaning complicated leachates with high levels of heavy metals, such as zinc, lead, arsenic, chromium, and copper. With its proven and unique technology developed from purifying metal recycling industry wastewater, based on Best Available Technology (BAT), a purification degree of up to 99.8% of the leachate is achieved. Clearwell offers a modular, scalable, and container-based leachate treatment systems.

With the letter of intent, Clearwell will provide its water purification technology, a unique combination of nanofiber, cold plasma filters and particle filters with the aim of reducing the presence of heavy metals and sediment in the mine water that occurs in the Värmlandsberg mine. This enables SENS to release purified mine water into surrounding recipients without negative impact on the ecosystem or the environment.

"Our work in the Värmlandsberg mine continues according to plans and the fact that we are signing another letter of intent, now with Clearwell, shows that there is great interest in our concept and the ongoing project. Clearwell's high-tech technology and focus on sustainability is completely in line with SENS's vision and we look forward to taking part in their technology to improve the project," comments Henrik Boman, CEO at SENS.

"SENS runs an important environmental project and is developing a very interesting concept, and it is gratifying to be involved in further development with our solution. Just like Clearwell, SENS has a clear focus on sustainability and the environment, and we look forward to a good and long-term collaboration in the initiated project", comments Patrik Philipson, CEO at Clearwell.
