EC approves formation of Billerud

EC approves formation of Billerud The European Commission Merger Task Force has today given approval to the formation of the new company Billerud, which will be 50/50 owned by Stora Enso and AssiDomän. The new company will be formed from the paper mills Gruvön (Stora Enso) and Karlsborg and Skärblacka (AssiDomän). The deal should be completed in February 2001, with formal merger and formation on 1 January 2001.
