Forest land exchange

AssiDomän and MoDo exchange forest-land AssiDomän and MoDo have reached an agreement in principle on the conditions for an extensive exchange transaction of land in northern Sweden. The exchange includes about 81 000 hectares of MoDo-land in the counties of Norrbotten and Västerbotten, and about 78 000 hectares of AssiDomän-land, mainly in the counties of Västernorrland and Jämtland. The aim of the exchange of land is to improve the structure of respective companies' forest-land holdings. Through the exchange the forest-land holdings will be concentrated closer to respective companies' industries. The transaction will be carried trough in early 1999, provided the necessary authority decisions have been made at that time.
