New management line-up at JCP Sturovo At the shareholders' meeting and the board meeting today at the Slovakian paper, corrugated packaging and asphalt board company JCP Sturovo, a new Board of Directors was elected and a new General Director appointed. The new Board of Directors includes the following people: Mr Lars Richardson (Chairman), President, AssiDomän Packaging Central & Eastern Europe; Mr Anders Haglund, Senior Vice President, AssiDomän Packaging; Mr Marian Slovak, General Director, JCP Sturovo. Mr Marian Slovak, 49, has been appointed General Director of JCP Sturovo, effective as from today. Mr Slovak, who is a Slovak citizen, previously held a position as Managing Director of Marti-Technologie Ltd, an engineering and servicing company in Switzerland. Mr Slovak has wide experience from various positions in well-known internationally operating companies, such as General Electric and ABB. Mr Juraj Kucera has resigned from his post as General Director, but has kindly agreed to assist the AssiDomän Packaging management as Senior Adviser, which means that his vast experience will remain available to JCP Sturovo. "JCP Sturovo has to face an increasingly tough market situation with ever- growing competition. In order to keep this a highly competitive company, the new management will have to redesign the JCP organisation into a customer- driven and process-oriented organisation," says Lars Richardson, President, AssiDomän Packaging Central & Eastern Europe. "We will now start forming the new organisation which will lead to a decentralized structure with three or four main divisions (profit centres). This will enable JCP to get closer to the market and better monitor the competition," says Marian Slovak, General Director, JCP Sturovo. AssiDomän today controls 91.2 per cent of the shares in JCP Sturovo. JCP will be integrated into AssiDomän Packaging, which is the corrugated packaging operation of AssiDomän with production plants in eleven European countries and about 8,500 employees. AssiDomän AB is one of Europe's leading forest products companies. Production is concentrated on packaging paper, packaging and sawn timber. AssiDomän is also one of the world's largest forest owners, with 3.3 million hectares of productive forest land. 1996 sales amounted to 19 billion SEK.
