Contract value at SEK 137 million signed
Contract valued at SEK 137 million signed Svedala Industri´s Canadian market company has signed a contract at a value of SEK 137 million. The order was placed by Canada´s largest iron ore mining company, Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOCC) which is a member of one of the world´s largest mining groups, Rio Tinto. The order comprises engineering, equipment and services for the reactivation and modernization of IOCC's pellet plant in Sept-Iles, Quebec, Canada. The existing plant was delivered 28 years ago by Svedala and operated successfully until economic conditions forced the plant to shut down in 1981. Contract execution will be conducted by Svedala Pyro Systems, USA - a division within Svedala specializing in design of systems and processes to increase quality and economic values of ores and minerals. Svedala Pyro Systems will provide services throughout the construction and startup phases of the project. Engineering is already underway and plant start up is scheduled for July 1, 2002.
