Svedala acquires screening-media company

Svedala acquires screening-media company Svedala Industri AB has acquired U.S.-based Ludlow-Saylor, which primarily produces screening media, from Powerscreen International PLC. Ludlow-Saylor, which has its office and sales unit in Warrenton, Missouri, is mainly active on the U.S. market. The company also has a number of distribution centers in the U.S. and Canada. The acquisition broadens Svedala´s product range in the screening field. Sales reported by Ludlow-Saylor in 1997 amounted to about SEK 100 million, with profit after financial items of approximately SEK 12 million. The purchase price for the operations was about SEK 72 million. The takeover is expected to occur at the end of February. Svedala Industri AB Information Services & Market Communications Tel.
