Svedala expands in drilling sector Svedala Industri has signed a distribution agreement with Boart Longyear, one of the world´s leading manufacturers of rock tools. The agreement provides Svedala with a more complete range of products in the drilling field. The new products, Svedala Rock Tools, will principally be marketed through the nearly 200 Svedala Houses in 50 countries. Accordingly, rock tools will become a natural complement to the other products marketed by Svedala in the growing after-market segment. Currently, the after-market accounts for nearly 45 percent of Svedala's total sales. Commenting on the agreement, Alan Walker, President of Svedala Drilling, said: "The global after-market business in drilling amounts to nearly USD 1 Billion and we are quite confident that through our Svedala House organization we are well positioned to provide superior service to the drilling customers around the world". "The agreement is also a further step towards a closer cooperation between the two companies with regard to other after-market products for the drilling sector," concluded Alan Walker.
