Handelsbanken starts branch office in Tromsö Handelsbanken has decided to start operations in Northern Norway. A branch will be opened in Tromsö this spring. Following this Handelsbanken will have 23 branches in Norway. Björn Andreassen, at present Head of VÅR Bank og Forsikring in Tromsö, will be in charge of Handelsbanken's operations in Tromsö. "This is completely in line with the Bank's Nordic strategy to start branches in towns with more than 50,000 inhabitants. I am therefore pleased that we have made the decision to open a branch in Tromsö," says Arne Mårtensson, Group Chief Executive.
