Svenska Handelsbanken holds more than 90 % of Midtbank AS On 11 April 2001, Svenska Handelsbanken made a takeover bid directed at the shareholders of Midtbank AS. The bid of DKK 850 per share applied until 4 p.m. on 8 May 2001. At the end of the application period, Svenska Handelsbanken had received acceptances corresponding to 96 % of the capital and more than 84 % of the total number of votes in Midtbank. Immediately after the extraordinary general meeting at Midtbank AS on 14 May 2001, Svenska Handelsbanken will announce whether it intends to complete the takeover bid.
