New collaboration for Swedish Orient Line Via its joint venture SolNiver Lines, Swedish Orient Line has signed an agreement in principle with the Polish shipping company Pol-Levant Shipping Lines Ltd to collaborate in traffic between the Nordic countries and the Mediterranean. Pol-Levant operates four RoRo vessels in liner traffic from Finland, Sweden, Poland, Denmark and other countries to principally Egypt, the Lebanon and Syria. As a result of this collaboration, Pol-Levant and SolNiver Lines will be able to provide more extensive and improved services for their customers. This will be arranged through a joint agent organisation which will market the two shipping companies. Accordingly, Pol-Levant will appoint Swedish Orient Line (SOL) as its agent for Sweden as from 2001. For SOL, this will mean larger cargo volumes and that it will be able to offer the services of two well-known and recognised shipping lines, together covering Israel, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Cyprus, Syria, the Lebanon and the countries in Northern Africa.
