About Us

The purpose of the Swedish Holocaust Museum is to preserve and pass on the memory of the Holocaust. The museum is intended to deepen and develop knowledge of the Holocaust on a national level. The museum is located at Torsgatan 19 in Stockholm and the first exhibition Seven lives opened in June 2023. The museum is part of the Swedish goverment agency National Historical Museums.

    New exhibition about Raoul Wallenberg opens in Stockholm

    With exceptional courage and initiative, Raoul Wallenberg saved the lives of thousands of Jews during the final stages of World War II. On May 14, the exhibition Raoul opens at the Swedish Holocaust Museum in Stockholm. The exhibition is produced by Raoul Wallenberg Academy in collaboration with the museum.The new exhibition focuses on Raoul Wallenberg's life from childhood to his disappearance in 1945, with a particular emphasis on his time in Budapest.     Swedish research project sheds light on untold Holocaust survivor stories

    At Stockholm's Northern Jewish Cemetery there are rows upon rows of small, plain headstones. Headstones of Jews who survived the Holocaust and arrived in Sweden, but passed away shortly thereafter. Who were they, and what can we learn about their lives? "Lost Voices - Echoes from the Rescued in 1945" is a Swedish research project dedicated to these fates.     Sweden’s new Holocaust Museum opens in Stockholm

    On 21 June, the Swedish Holocaust Museum opened its doors for the first time in central Stockholm. The museum’s first exhibition, Seven lives, opened at the same time. The exhibition is about seven people who, against all odds, survived the Holocaust and came to Sweden.
