The current account showed a surplus of SEK 39.7 billion for 2007 Q2, which is SEK 2.4 billion lower than the figure for the same period in 2006. Despite a strong improvement in services, the current account balance as a whole weakened between the comparison periods.

The financial account gave a net outflow of SEK 95.3 billion during 2007 Q2. The main contribution to this came from portfolio investment, which accounted for the largest outflow, SEK 129.5 billion.

The Balance of Payments will in the future be produced and published by Statistics Sweden, commissioned by the Riksbank. With effect from 10 October, all statistics regarding the balance of payments will be available on Statistics Sweden’s website www.scb.se.
