Anna Breman new Deputy Governor of the Riksbank

The General Council of the Riksbank today decided to appoint Anna Breman new member of the Executive Board of the Riksbank. Breman replaces Kerstin af Jochnick, who left the Riksbank in October 2019 to work at the ECB. The General Council also decided to appoint Cecilia Skingsley First Deputy Governor of the Riksbank.

”We are very pleased to be able to present another highly qualified person as member of the Executive Board. The decision of the General Council was unanimous. Anna Breman has broad and in-depth experience from both the financial sector and the world of academia, in Sweden and internationally,” say Susanne Eberstein, Chairperson of the General Council, and Michael Lundholm, Vice Chairman, in a joint comment. Breman’s most recent position was chief economist and head of macroanalysis at Swedbank. 

Anna Breman has been appointed for a term of office of six years, with effect from 1 December, or from a later date if required for practical purposes. Breman will take part in the monetary policy meeting on 18 December.

The General Council also decided at its meeting today to appoint Cecilia Skingsley First Deputy Governor, with effect from 8 November 2019, and until her period of office expires on 22 May 2025.

The Executive Board of the Riksbank consists of six members, who are appointed for a term of office of five or six years. The other members are Governor Stefan Ingves and Deputy Governors Martin Flodén, Per Jansson and Henry Ohlsson.
