Kerstin af Jochnick – new ECB representative to the Supervisory Board
The Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) has appointed Kerstin af Jochnick as ECB representative to the Supervisory Board of ECB Banking Supervision.
“I am very pleased to have been entrusted with the task of becoming independent member of the Supervisory Board of ECB Banking Supervision. The ECB's supervision of the larger banks in Europe plays a very important role in creating stable financial markets,” says First Deputy Governor Kerstin af Jochnick.
Kerstin af Jochnick will therefore leave her post as First Deputy Governor of the Riksbank. The General Council of the Riksbank will determine the details for the transition.
“Kerstin af Jochnick has made a very valuable contribution to the work of the Riksbank. We on the General Council have appreciated Kerstin af Jochnick for her personal qualities as well as her broad and in-depth competence in many fields,” comments Susanne Eberstein, Chair of the General Council of the Riksbank.
The Supervisory Board is responsible for planning and carrying out the ECB’s banking supervision tasks.
