The Executive Board of the Riksbank has decided to appoint Anders Vredin as acting Head of the Monetary Policy Department after Marianne Nessén, who will take on a new position as senior advisor to the Executive Board.

Anders Vredin, who is currently Head of the General Secretariat, will be the acting Head of the Monetary Policy Department from 1 March until a new head of department has been appointed and takes up the post.

“Marianne Nessén has been Head of the Monetary Policy Department for five years and was Deputy Head before that. These have been challenging years both for global and for Swedish monetary policy. She has led the department with the utmost professionalism during this period and has now chosen to take on a freer role as an advisor. The Executive Board would like to thank Marianne Nessén for all the good work that has been done,” Governor Stefan Ingves said.

In conjunction with this, the Executive Board has also decided to appoint Pernilla Meyersson as acting Head of the General Secretariat.
