The Riksbank awarded first prize for best website
The Riksbank has picked up first prize as best website of the year among the world’s central banks. The prize is awarded by the Central Banking Journal in the category Best Website of the Year 2019. In particular, the jury highlighted the website’s efficient navigation structure and accessible content.
The Central Banking Journal is a publication that covers issues relating to the operations of central banks and financial supervisory authorities. The prize will be handed out at a ceremony in London on 13 March this year.
The jury’s statement:
“The judges were particularly impressed with how the Riksbank has once again managed to redesign and restructure its website to great effect, with users staying longer and engaging with more content. The very best websites offer a simple and efficient navigation structure and accessible content while still capturing and conveying the complexity and nuances of central banking. The Riksbank’s relaunched website scores extremely well across all of these criteria.”
“I am very happy and proud of the prize and our creative team. The Riksbank has a responsibility to communicate the changes we see and how we work towards solutions that are in the best interest of the general public. It is therefore very pleasing that our website, riksbank.se, is receiving this award for accessible content in a simple and efficient way,” says Stefan Ingves, Governor of the Riksbank.
“We have based the new site on the needs of our target groups and created an effective and flexible website that can be quickly adapted to future requirements. A streamlined design makes it easy for users to find what they are looking for and provides greater scope for working with images and video,” says the Riksbank’s Director of Communications, Ann-Leena Mikiver.
