SWE-DISH Satellite Systems - a world leading supplier of mobile satellite communication equipment launches a new drive-away satellite terminal: the SWE-DISH DA150K Compact.

The DA150K Compact is the latest generation of the rugged and totally encapsulated drive-away systems from SWE-DISH. The DA150K Compact is a small size, vehicle mounted antenna system concept for worldwide Ku-band uplink operation. The new Compact drive-away attracts governments, defense organizations and broadcasters, seeking high performance, reliable and flexible satellite antenna systems with low profile for various applications. The antenna is a high performing elliptical 1.5m Gregorian offset antenna, that gives up to 80% gain efficiency when transmitting. The DA150K Compact is a shorter and more compact version of the well proven DA150K Drive-Away, making it suitable for a smaller vehicle or van with limited roof area. The pod is made of carbon fiber and a hard protective cover has replaced the fairing, to make the pod shorter and to enable permanent or temporarily installation on any vehicle. During transport the antenna is fully encapsulated to protect all mechanics, feed arm and RF components from dust and grit. Lars Jehrlander, CEO at SWE-DISH Satellite Systems, says “Our mission is to develop easy to use, mobile satellite communication equipment for broadband applications. With the new DA150K Compact, our objective was to create a smaller vehicle mounted antenna, and to add flexibility for our customers regarding installation on a wider range of vehicles and shipping possibilities. We will continue to develop communication solutions that make our customers everyday work easier”. The SWE-DISH drive-away series now includes the well proven DA150K Drive-Away used by broadcasters and defense organizations world wide, the DA90K Drive-Away, for permanent or temporary installation and the DA150K Compact. - End -
