SWE-DISH Suitcase gets AsiaSat type approval
The AsiaSat certificate for the SWE-DISH Suitcase (reg. no. TO8/26-10-05/001) comes less than two months after the Suitcase received an IPSTAR test approval. With the type acceptance, the Suitcase reaffirms and strengthens its position in Asia.
AsiaSat, a leading regional satellite operator in Asia, has granted the SWE-DISH Suitcase approval to operate with their satellite transponders. The type approval proves the performance and quality of the small and easy-to-use Suitcase in this region. Now with increased Ku-band usage in the Asian region, and with approvals from two of the leading satellite operators in Asia; it is easier than ever to use the Suitcase. AsiaSat provides services to both the broadcast and telecommunications industries. More than 200 television channels and 130 radio channels are now delivered by the company’s satellites, reaching 96 million households with more than 360 million viewers across the Asia Pacific region. With both AsiaSat and IPSTAR type approval, it is easier and gives more flexibility for our Suitcase customers to sign up for satellite capacity. It is always gratifying to have one independent body, or as in this case, two independent bodies, confirming the quality and performance of our Suitcase, says Lars Jehrlander, CEO at SWE-DISH. The Suitcase is tailored for cost efficient communication, e.g. live broadcast video and data transmission, internet traffic, store and forward, as well as Voice over IP (VoIP) from remote or temporary locations. Typical users are broadcasters, rescue agencies, relief organizations, as well as military units - all organizations who need to quickly arrange broadband data communication independent of fixed infrastructure. The SWE-DISH Suitcase has previously been awarded type approvals from Intelsat (IA097AA0), Eutelsat (EA-V042), Europe*Star (ES-ME-39), Hispasat, IPSTAR and received a FCC license.
