Each year, Veckans Affärer, a Swedish business magazine, names the 125 most powerful women in Swedish industry. Right at the top of the list is Åsa Bergman, President and CEO of Sweco.

“I feel proud to have been honoured in this way, and I see the award as recognition for Sweco and what our company stands for,” says Bergman. “We are a modern, equal opportunities employer and we’re helping to plan the sustainable cities and communities of the future throughout Europe.”

The jury’s motivation for presenting the award to Åsa Bergman is that she is managing more than 15,000 employees in the leading European company in its industry. Focusing on urbanisation, digitalisation, globalisation and increased environmental awareness, she is at the forefront of efforts to create our future society.

In 2017, Åsa Bergman received The Leading Women Award from World Business Council for Sustainable Development, an accolade that recognizes the leadership of women who are working to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
