SWECO is continuing to advance its position the Baltic market. SWECO’s Lithuanian subsidiary SWECO BKG has been selected to upgrade and modernise the water supply and sewage systems of 13 cities throughout the country. The contract is worth approximately EUR 3.2 million and is expected to be completed in around 30 months.

”In a short span of time we have become the leading provider of consulting engineering services in the Baltic region, and this latest contract in Lithuania demonstrates the wisdom of our focus on these growth markets. In Lithuania we currently have an order backlog of around three and a half years, which is very good,” says Per Johansson, Managing Director of SWECO Eastern Europe.

The cities covered in the contract are Alytus, Druskininkai, Kaunas, Salcininkai, Akmene, Rokiskis, Kupiskis, Vilkaviskis, Raseiniai, Radviliskis, Marijampole, Kelme and Kalvarija. In connection with the new assignment, SWECO will open its third office in Lithuania, this time in the city of Siauliai. The earlier offices are located in Vilnius and Klapeida.

With around 160 consultants in the country, SWECO is Lithuania’s largest engineering consultancy. Today SWECO has some 500 consultants in the Baltic countries and the St. Petersburg region.
