SWECO acquires energy consultancy with 100 employees

SWECO Energuide has acquired Eltel Networks Konsult AB, with nearly 100 employees in Sweden. The acquisition will give SWECO Energuide a leading position in power transmission and distribution consulting.

Eltel Networks’ consulting operations will strengthen SWECO Energuide’s power networks capabilities with services in distribution, planning, transmission line design and maintenance of power line routes. “Extensive upgrading and refurbishment of the Swedish electrical network is generating increasing demand of qualified consulting services throughout the power supply sector. The acquisition of Eltel Networks’ consulting business will make us the Swedish market-leader in power distribution, with more than 150 consultants specialised in this area,” says Erik Severin, Managing Director of SWECO Energuide. Through the acquisition SWECO Energuide will become a full-fledged service provider to the power transmission market with services spanning all phases from feasibility studies, permitting procedures, design of networks and stations, status inspections and maintenance planning, to operation and systems analysis. After the acquisition SWECO Energuide will have a total of nearly 270 employees.
