SWECO is creating a new organisation to support continued expansion on the international market. The new organisation is basically geographic, in order to reinforce the group's strong international position. However, SWECO PIC will be organised supra-nationally. “Previously we were a Swedish technical consultancy company with international business. Today we are an international group, with nearly half our staff working outside Sweden's borders. So it is only natural that we are setting up a new organisation”, says Wigon Thuresson, MD and CEO of SWECO. The new organisation puts SWECO in a better position to succeed in the face of worldwide industry consolidation. “We have doubled in size and at the same time increased profitability in the space of just a few years. By setting up a new international organisation we can better continue our successful and profitable expansion”, says Wigon Thuresson. The new international organisation looks like this: – SWECO Sweden. The new manager will be Eva Nygren (currently MD in SWECO FFNS). SWECO Sweden includes the existing eight Swedish subsidiaries, and will have 2 008 employees. – SWECO Grøner, Norway. Headed by Vibecke Hverven, with 498 employees. – SWECO Finland. The new manager will be Lauri Hintikka, with 60 employees. – SWECO Baltic and Eastern Europe. The new manager will be Per Johansson (also MD SWECO VIAK), with 78 employees. – SWECO Russia. The new manager will be Eva Nygren, with 35 employees. – SWECO PIC, Industry. Headed by Lauri Hintikka, with 1 068 employees Eva Nygren, MD of SWECO FFNS Arkitekter, is succeeded by Jan Mattsson, following her new appointment as Manager of SWECO Sweden. Jan Mattsson is currently Regional Manager for SWECO FFNS in Örebro, Sweden. SWECO’s new organisation comes into effect on 2 May 2006
