SWECO has established a new company, SWECO Eastern Europe, as a means for increasing its momentum in the fast-growing markets of Central and Eastern Europe.

SWECO Eastern Europe encompasses SWECO’s existing operations in Estonia, Lithuania and Bulgaria. The new company will be headed by Per Johansson, currently Managing Director of SWECO VIAK, who will take up his new duties on 1 June. Central and Eastern Europe is showing a particularly strong demand for SWECO’s services in water and environmental technology, infrastructure, energy, industrial engineering and architecture. “The rapid pace of development to the east offers enormous market potential for several of SWECO’s areas of operation. Through the new company, we can create a stronger platform for expansion in both the Baltic and other growth markets of Central and Eastern Europe,” says Per Johansson. Per Johansson is 46 years old and has been Managing Director of the Water & Environment unit SWECO VIAK since 2002. During this time, he has led SWECO’s successful eastward expansion in the field of water and environment.
