Sweco is continuing to grow and strengthen its position as Europe’s leading architecture and engineering consultancy in the ongoing green transition. This is made tangible by 120,000 client projects, 12 acquisitions and 20,000 experts, together with higher net sales of SEK 24 billion.

Net sales increased 11 per cent to slightly more than SEK 24 billion and with a margin of 9.2 per cent. The healthy demand for Sweco’s services is driven by increased investments in the green transformation of Europe’s industries, energy systems and transport infrastructure as well as by investment in the resilience of cities and communities.

“Increasingly complex and cross-border solutions are needed as the transition accelerates and intensifies. This presents excellent business opportunities for Sweco to leverage. In partnership with our clients, we contribute to sustainable development in society,” says Åsa Bergman, President and CEO of Sweco.

Sweco welcomed some 4,000 new employees in 2022 by way of twelve acquisitions and active recruitment, and today comprises more than 20,000 engineers, architects and other experts. Employee satisfaction remains high and Sweco retains its position as one of the industry’s most attractive employers. The proportion of women increased to 35 per cent (34).

Sweco’s primary contribution to reduced emissions and sustainable social development is through the 120,000 ongoing client projects for the private and public sector. In its own operations, Sweco has a goal of climate neutrality by 2040, to be achieved in part by halving the company’s carbon dioxide emissions by 2030.
