Sweco has hired Michael Thydell as a BIM strategist and has thereby raised the bar in the company’s efforts to establish a leading position in BIM, Building Information Modelling.
It is part of our development process, where the goal is to boost the company’s competencies to new levels,” says Jan Mattsson, President of Sweco Architects.

Michael Thydell is regarded as one of Sweden’s foremost experts at practical application of Revit and BIM, with a background in both architectural operations and computer engineering. He comes most recently from AEC, where he was group manager for the Stockholm office.

Michael has worked extensively to support and assist many companies and organisations in effective use of that which is today encompassed by BIM – from architects, consultants and major property managers to building contractors, home builders and furniture manufacturers.

“The special skills that Michael possesses are highly sought after and he was a natural choice in our recruitment for the new position. His longstanding experience of both architecture and CAD weigh heavily in our efforts to stay at the leading edge in BIM,” says Jan Mattsson.

Being one of the key drivers for the company’s development is a challenge Michael Thydell looks forward to. His previous contacts with Sweco have given him a positive impression of the company and its employees.

“My experience is that Sweco already has considerable knowledge in this area and I will continue to raise the level of expertise by supporting groups, creating contact interfaces, promoting collaboration in projects and not least through cooperation with other consultants and clients,” says Michael Thydell. “We are aiming for high goals and I am convinced that these will be met.”
