SWECO sets up company in Bulgaria

As part of its expansion, SWECO VIAK has established a company in Bulgaria in response to an urgent need for qualified environmental consulting services in the region.

“The presence in Bulgaria will enhance our competitiveness,” says Per Johansson, Managing Director of SWECO VIAK. “We are currently taking part in several major projects in the region, including one aimed at improving water and wastewater treatment in the capital city of Sofia.” The local consultants involved in SWECO’s various Bulgarian projects will form a base for SWECO Bulgaria’s operations. Similar water and environment projects are also being conducted in nearby countries like Croatia and Romania. “We have seen the positive effects of our startups in Estonia and Lithuania, where we now have a total of 80 employees,” says Per Johansson. The company has some 500 employees in Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania and Bulgaria.
