Sweco has been chosen by the City Helsingborg to plan a new section of European highway E4 between Malmöleden and the Port of Helsingborg.

“The project is technically advanced and will involve several of our disciplines. We look forward to taking part in this initiative to develop the City of Helsingborg,” says Johan Dozzi, President of Sweco Infrastructure.

The contract is for planning of a new 5 km long approach road to the Port of Helsingborg. The road will link the E4 highway to the port, which will reduce traffic congestion in central Helsingborg and provide scope for ongoing urban development.

The contract is worth around EUR 1.1 million and is scheduled for completion in December 2012.

Facts about the project:
Sweco has been contracted for preparation of a work plan and revision of detail plans based on the alignment of the new road. The work plan includes both rebuilding and new construction of roads and streets, a number of split-level interchanges and a road tunnel. Sweco will also perform system analyses and studies for the railway lines that are affected by the new road.
