Sweco has been awarded a contract by the Swedish Transport Administration to study a new alignment for a section of road 268, including a new traffic interchange by European route E4 in Upplands Väsby outside Stockholm. The aim is to improve the traffic flow and increase traffic safety in the area.

”We will develop solutions that make it possible to address the shortcomings in safety and traffic flow that are found in the existing section of road,” says Johan Dozzi, President of Sweco Infrastructure.

Sweco’s consultants will study the most suitable alignment for road 268 between European route E4 and Grana. Furthermore, Sweco will also prepare a work plan for a new pedestrian and bicycle path in the area.

In the assignment, Sweco will provide expertise in road and traffic, bridges, environment and geotechnical engineering. Work will continue until November 2013.
