SWECO Energuide has signed a long-term collaboration agreement with Ringhals AB covering qualified consulting services in electrical engineering. The assignment is scheduled to begin immediately.

Ringhals AB, part of the Vattenfall Group, plans to modernise the switchgears at nuclear reactors 1, 3 and 4. The upgrade will take place within the framework of an ongoing and very large-scale investment programme. In the first stage, SWECO Energuide will be responsible for project and assembly management, engineering design and testing of the service switchgears at Reactor 1. This work will employ some 15 consultants from SWECO until 2009. The total investment cost for the service switchgears at Reactor 1 is estimated at around EUR 21.8 million. ”It is highly gratifying that Ringhals has chosen to partner with us, and has selected SWECO as a Preferred Supplier. The collaboration agreement is a confirmation of our cutting-edge expertise in electrical engineering,” says Erik Severin, Managing Director of SWECO Energuide. The next step is an investment decision regarding the other switchgears at Reactor 1, which is awaited during 2007. Ringhals nuclear power plant is the largest power plant in Scandinavia, situated on the west coast of Sweden.
