The number of routes from Göteborg Landvetter Airport continues to grow. This spring, Ryanair will offer non-stop service to one of the most popular destinations in England, Manchester. There will be two weekly departures between Gothenburg and the third largest metropolitan area in the UK.

Beginning April 3, 2019, people in western Sweden will be able to fly non-stop from Göteborg Landvetter to Manchester. The new route will make travel easier for the 18,000 passengers who fly there each year via another airport. Nearly half of those who fly between Gothenburg and Manchester are business travellers, and exchanges between the two cities are important for commerce. The UK is a key export market for Sweden, and the Manchester region is growing rapidly. The region is particularly important given its major investments in research and development, primarily in the life sciences.

“It is good and important that we will now have the opportunity to offer our travellers a new air link to Manchester. A number of British companies in the Gothenburg region and as Swedish companies with operations in Manchester have both been asking for this route,” said Helena Wiberg Klint, acting Airport Director and Head of Business Development at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.

“We’re pleased to announce another new route to Göteborg Landvetter Airport with a twice-weekly service from Manchester; one of Ryanair’s biggest airports in the United Kingdom,” said Chris Lundshøj, Sales and Marketing Executive Scandinavia and Baltics at Ryanair.

Service will launch on April 3, 2019, with two departures a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, from Göteborg Landvetter to Manchester Airport with a B737-800 aircraft type.
