New Airport Manager at Kiruna Airport

Swedavia appoints Ulf Nygren as the new airport manager at Kiruna Airport. He will take up his new role in December 2024.

"We are very happy to welcome Ulf to Swedavia and the aviation industry. His extensive expertise and experience will be a fantastic addition to Swedavia and Kiruna Airport. Together with Ulf, we will continue to develop regional connectivity and lead the transformation of the aviation industry," says Karin Öhrström, Director of Regional Airports at Swedavia.

Ulf Nygren has a long background in building and operating infrastructure in management and leadership roles. His most recent position was at SSC Esrange Space Center, where he has been responsible for the center's infrastructure, hotel and restaurant and office management. Prior to his time at SSC, Ulf worked within the Kiruna Municipality Group, including as project manager and administrative manager for the Environmental and Urban Development Administration. Ulf will replace Andreas Fredriksson, who left his position on 31 August this year.

It is an honour to be entrusted with this position," says Ulf Nygren.

Ulf Nygren is 54 years old, earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering at Luleå University of Technology and lives in Kiruna. Ulf will take up his new position on 13 December 2024.
