During September, air travel at Swedavia's ten airports increased by two per cent compared with September 2023. This increase was driven by continued strong demand for international travel. International travel increased by four per cent, while domestic travel decreased by three per cent. At several regional airports, including Kiruna and Ronneby, domestic travel had a positive development during the month. Arlanda and Landvetter had the strongest trend for international traffic, with increases of six per cent and five per cent, respectively.

"Investments in efficient travel via Stockholm Arlanda Airport are important to ensure good connectivity throughout the country in the long term. The fact that domestic traffic, which has hada weak trend for several years, is now also being concentrated at Arlanda is therefore natural.  A strong Arlanda is important both to ensure a strong connectivity as well as for the Swedish competitiveness," says Jonas Abrahamsson, Swedavia's President and CEO.
