Bloomberg has ranked top 10 of the Western Europe's funds with the strongest performance during 2020. Three of Swedbank Robur's funds are included in the list, and tiered as number one is Ny Teknik, closely followed by Småbolag Sverige in second place and Småbolag Norden as the tenth best equity fund in Western Europe.

Swedbank Robur's strong results in the ranking, despite the turbulent market year, are linked to several large holdings in the Swedish communications and technology sector, where some companies have increased up to three times the original investment.

“Swedbank Robur has a long-term perspective for its investments and works to create attractive customer value over time. As Sweden's largest fund company, we also have the resources to have professional and experienced managers, sustainability analysts and corporate governance specialists on site internally. There is an enormous strength in that, which benefits both our customers and investments”, says Stefan Sundblom, Head of Nordic Equties at Swedbank Robur.

Swedbank Robur's thematic management model, including i.e. a focus on the digitalisation theme, has been successful and has contributed to a strong development in recent years. This applies to Ny Teknik as well as many of the fund company’s broader regional and small cap funds.

“In parallel with the ongoing pandemic, digital development has been almost explosive, where we have seen a sharp increase in focus on innovative technology, technical collaboration platforms and software programs. Many of our innovative technology and communication companies have had a stronger positive development in 2020 despite, or rather thanks to, the major disruptions we have seen in the global economy”, says Stefan Sundblom.
