Ownership of Swedbank’s Russian operations transferred

Swedbank today transferred ownership of the Russian operations of OAO Swedbank and its subsidiary OOO Hansa Leasing Ltd from Hansabank to Swedbank. In 2007 Swedbank’s Russian operations changed name from Hansabank to Swedbank, and during the third quarter of the same year Swedbank’s Board of Directors decided to also transfer ownership.

Swedbank’s operations in Russia currently comprise three branches in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad as well as leasing operations and a trade finance business. The customer base consists of around 400 companies and 2,000 individuals. As of March 31, 2008 lending amounted to SEK 10 billion with 386 employees.
