Swedbank – new members in the Group Executive Committee

Swedbank's Group Executive Committee will have new members when Charlotte Rydin becomes new Chief Legal Officer and Head of Group Legal. Most recently Charlotte Rydin comes from Alecta, where she has held the position as Chief Legal Officer. New Head of Baltic Banking is Jon Lidefelt. He has extensive experience in the Baltic banking market and a solid career in central group functions in Swedbank.

New Chief Legal Officer

Previously, Charlotte Rydin has been Chief Legal Officer at both the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority and the Swedish National Debt Office, where she also was head of the Department for Financial Stability and Consumer Protection. Charlotte Rydin has also been Compliance Manager and lawyer at hedge fund firm Brummer & Partners.

Charlotte Rydin will report to the CEO and is a member of the Group Executive Committee. She will take up office at the beginning of January 2021.

New Head of Baltic Banking

New Head of Baltic banking operations is Jon Lidefelt, who has been acting Head of Baltic banking since the turn of the year. Jon Lidefelt has extensive experience in financial management, risk and regulatory work as well as customer satisfaction in the financial sector. Jon Lidefelt has worked both as CFO of Swedbank's Baltic business since 2017 and as an on-site consultant in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Jon Lidefelt has also held managerial positions within the risk group function at Swedbank.

- Jon Lidefelt has done a very good job in leading Baltic banking since December last year. I am pleased that he is now assuming the role of permanent manager of our Baltic markets, where Swedbank has a strong business and plays a central role as a community builder, says Jens Henriksson, President and CEO of Swedbank.

Jon Lidefelt continues to report to the CEO and is a member of the Group Executive Committee. He takes office on August 1st.

Overall changes in the Group Executive Committee

In total, President and CEO Jens Henriksson has now recruited four new managers to the Group Executive Committee. Erik Ljungberg, who comes from the position of Senior vice president, Communications, Brand and Marketing at Scania, took over as Head of Group Communication and Sustainability on July 1st. Rolf Marquardt, CFO and former Group Risk Manager at Handelsbanken, is the new Group Risk Manager and will take on his position September 14th.
