(19th September 2024, Stockholm) Swegreen is excited to announce that it has been selected as a finalist in three categories at the prestigious ‘Vertical Farming World Awards 2024’, organized by Zenith Global. The winners will be revealed at the Vertical Farming World Congress 2024 on 25th September in Frankfurt, Germany.

"We are incredibly proud to be named finalists in all three categories we entered," said Sepehr Mousavi, Co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer at Swegreen. "These awards are a testament to our team’s dedication to driving technological innovation and sustainability in in-store farming. Being recognized alongside other industry leaders at such a prestigious event highlights the impact we’re making in transforming the retail sector and urban food scene."

Swegreen has been nominated finalist in the three following categories:

-Best Resource Efficiency:

Swegreen’s Life Cycle Assessment in collaboration with Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Swedish Environmental Research Institute (IVL) for its newly launched In-Store farming platform SAGA set four global records; in regard to minimized CO2 emissions, energy efficiency, minimal water usage, and yield maximization per square meter, reaffirming our leadership in sustainability.

-Best Research and Development Contribution:

A portfolio of 65,000+ hours of R&D behind the Swegreen FREJA and SAGA growing platforms enabled groundbreaking technology for in-store farming, driven by AI, remote climate control, automation, and cloud-based farm management.

-Best Technology Development:

The launch of SAGA, a compact, state of the art farming platform, has been a wow-factor for in-store food production, allowing retailers to grow up to 120 plants daily in just 8-12 m² of space. The platform is used by Nordic major retailers such as ICA, Coop and Hemköp but also established a new expansion market in collaboration with German giants EDEKA in Germany.
