Swiss Post Solutions, Inc., a premier outsourcing solutions provider, has been named as one of the YAI Network’s top volunteer organizations, recognizing the activities performed by company employees throughout 2010.

Swiss Post Solutions (SPS) has been working with YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities since 2005, and SPS representatives have been active participants on YAI’s Business Advisory Council since 2006.

“Corporate citizenship is an integral part of our culture at Swiss Post Solutions,” stated Russ Cusick, Chief People Officer.  “We first started working with YAI to help their consumers who were looking for employment, but soon discovered the vast reach of the organization, which led us to expand our support through programs such as our annual Toy Drive.”

This year, Swiss Post Solutions supported the YAI Network through activities including:

  •  Toy Drive – For the past two years, Swiss Post Solutions has conducted a holiday Toy Drive supporting the New York League for Early Learning (NYL), which is part of the YAI Network.  In 2010, Swiss Post Solutions and its clients donated hundreds of toys for preschoolers at the Harry H. Gordon School.  In addition, SPS helped YAI roll out Toy Drives to other companies and organizations.
  •  Job Fairs – Swiss Post Solutions regularly participates in YAI Job Fairs to interview YAI consumers for possible employment.
  •  Mentoring / Job Shadowing – Swiss Post Solutions hosted two groups of YAI consumers in October as part of Disability Mentoring Day.  The consumers participated in job shadowing at Swiss Post Solutions outsourcing operations, met with company executives, and attended presentations to learn about company business activities.
  • YAI Central Park Challenge – The Central Park Challenge is an annual fund-raising event that includes a 3K Walk, 5K Run, a Family Play Area and more.  Swiss Post Solutions employees conducted fund-raising activities and participated in the event for the third year in a row.

"Partnerships like this demonstrate how by working together we can enhance the lives of people with special needs," said Dr. Philip H. Levy, CEO and President of the YAI Network. "Swiss Post Solutions is a wonderful corporate partner who supports our mission of providing hope and opportunity for people with disabilities of all ages. It does so in the workplace by hiring individuals with disabilities, and in the community by brightening the holidays for our preschoolers."
