Symsoft today announces that one of its large customers on the Asian market has launched an in-roaming service that makes it possible for travelers to both send and receive calls and SMS using a local number in a special local subscription.
By providing roamers with a local prepaid subscription, Nobill® Visiting Prepaid from Symsoft lets travelers enjoy calls and SMS services at local tariffs in the visiting network. To be allocated a local prepaid subscription, prepaid roamers sign up to the visited network via their mobile device. The roamers can then use both their home and visited network profiles in parallel. No new SIM card is needed. Additionally, when the roamer is using the received local prepaid subscription, incoming calls and SMS are free, providing an attractive tariffing opportunity. Nobill Visiting Prepaid is a cutting edge solution allowing both roaming enabled and non roaming enabled subscribers to use the service.
"There is huge revenue potential to be captured from prepaid users around the world who would like to use their phone while traveling if it were affordable and available. Nobill Visiting Prepaid is the world's first system that allows both roaming and non roaming enabled to fully utilize a local prepaid number tied to their home SIM for outgoing and incoming voice and SMS service. Nobill Visiting Prepaid is a simple-to-integrate; one box solution that allows rich services to be introduced quickly. A large number of in-roamers have already signed up for the service due to its simple provisioning via USSD or IVR", says Erik von Essen, General Manager, Symsoft Asia.
Service providers introducing the Visiting Prepaid service will retain revenue from both international roaming calls and from the local prepaid subscription services provided to the visiting roamers, thus building a significant and sustained incremental revenue stream.
