Systemair acquires Brittish fan company

Systemair takes over the assets of Matthews&Yates, a leading axial fan manufacturer. The acquisition includes the rights to use the brand Matthews&Yates and gives Systemair access to the world market for train and road tunnel fans. Matthews&Yates is a well established brand within axialfans for train and road tunnel fans. The turnover 2006 was approx. 5 MEUR, with an export share of more than 60% of which a substantial part in South East Asia. The acquisition of Matthews&Yates facilitates our entering the market for tunnel fans. We strengthen our product range in a way that makes it possible to participate in large tunnel projects, says Gerald Engström, CEO for Systemair. This is an acquisition where Systemair is taking over the assets of Matthews&Yates, including the rights to the brand, from the private owned company Spire Group. Matthews&Yates production is transferred step by step from England to Systemair’s units in Germany and Slovenia, who already have an extensive axial fan production.
